Occupy Denver rallied around an elderly lady who had never been to an Occupy event but was in danger of losing her home. Her mortgage had been bought and sold by three separate banks and Occupy Denver attempted to save this woman from becoming homeless.

Reports: Riot Cops, Pepper Spray at Home Eviction in Southeast (Portland Mercury)

Housing activists prepping for months for foreclosure defense efforts at houses across Portland are facing their first major test this afternoon after Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies and Portland cops showed up to enforce an eviction at a Southeast Portland home — and reportedly brought along pepper spray and riot gear.

Green Party’s First Act in White House would be Foreclosure Moratorium (The Uptake)

Green Party vice presidential candidate Cheri Honkala said that, were she and presidential candidate Jill Stein to win Tuesday’s election, the first thing they’d do would be to “turn the White House into the ‘green house’ and enact a moratorium on foreclosures in the United States of America.”

Occupy Maine sets focus on home foreclosures (The Forecaster)

Members of Occupy Maine are focusing their efforts on housing foreclosures and providing support to Mainers struggling through the process… The group is contacting candidates across the state to discuss their positions on LD-145 , a bill that the Legislature passed to prevent banks from foreclosing on homes unless the banks could prove ownership. The bill was vetoed by Gov. Paul LePage in March.
